Job Overview

The Production Brewer is responsible for executing brewing and cellar operations to ensure production runs smoothly while maintaining high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

Brewing & Cellar Operations

  • Execute brewing operations according to the production schedule, ensuring efficiency and consistency.

  • Perform daily brewing tasks, including mashing, lautering, boiling, hop additions, fermentation monitoring, and yeast management.

  • Conduct necessary cellar work such as transferring beer, dry hopping, fining, and filtering.

  • Perform routine gravity readings, pH checks, and temperature monitoring.

  • Maintain detailed brewing records in brewing software (EKOS) and ensure accurate data entry.

Packaging & Quality Control

  • Assist with packaging operations, including kegging, canning, and bottling as required.

  • Ensure kegs are properly cleaned, sanitized, and purged before filling.

  • Perform yeast cell counts and monitor fermentation progress to maintain product quality.

  • Maintain high safety and sanitation standards throughout the brewery.

Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Ensure all brewing, packaging, and fermentation equipment is cleaned and sanitized according to SOPs.

  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the brewhouse, storage areas, grain room, and chemical storage.

  • Report any equipment issues or maintenance needs to the Head Brewer.

Research & Development (R&D)

  • Operate and maximize the use of the pilot brewing system.

  • Collaborate with the Head Brewer on new product development, tweaks to existing recipes, and seasonal or limited-release brews.

  • Stay informed on emerging beer styles, brewing techniques, and industry trends.

  • Explore and familiarize yourself with potential new beverage categories Graystone Brewing could expand into.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Train new team members on SOPs to ensure consistency in brewing operations.

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.

  • Maintain confidentiality as required by company policies.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00-$48,000.00 per year
